Scope of Work

Scope of Work

This project centered around transforming an extreme elevation shift into a safe, family-friendly, and functional outdoor space. With over six months of ledge removal followed by precision grading, the site was reshaped from harsh terrain into a livable landscape complete with walls, play zones, planting, and recreational areas.

  • Removed and repurposed over 2,300 yards of ledge
  • Built 100 linear feet of stone retaining walls
  • Installed a basketball court, lawn play area, and perennial borders
  • Regraded steep front yard and driveway to improve safety and access

What began as an unwelcoming slope of exposed ledge was transformed into a fully usable family property. By reshaping the terrain with precision grading and bold engineering, we created a series of outdoor zones that are both functional and beautiful—from play spaces to perennial gardens.

The result is a home that now meets the land on level terms.

Message from Fred Anderson

I started this business with a grading machine—so when I saw this site, I couldn’t resist. It was the most intense grade shift we’ve ever worked on, and the results speak for themselves.

Design Challenges

The site presented the most dramatic grade change Anderson had ever taken on. The front yard’s steep slope and uneven ledge outcroppings created a hazardous entry sequence and unusable land around the home. Vehicle doors couldn’t open safely, and there was no flat surface for daily movement. In back, the goal was to reclaim land for both beauty and family function, while working with the existing rock conditions.

What We Did
Massive Ledge Removal
We spent six months jackhammering 2,300 cubic yards of ledge, reshaping the terrain to allow for safe, purposeful space.
Functional Outdoor Zones
Built a basketball court, rear lawn, and steep perennial border, turning once-hostile terrain into a livable landscape.
Regraded Front Drive
Constructed a 100-foot retaining wall to support a newly leveled drive pad—solving door clearance issues and enhancing curb appeal.
